Dear Birgitte
As cereal meals in general render a high level of satisfaction it is difficult to suggest a substitution, however, the best option next to cereal would be home-made bread.
I guess that your daughter's reaction also has to do with the fact that she wants to eat the same as the rest of the family. A ten months old baby tries to emitate her parents behaviour in everything you do, and I therefore suggest that you offer her the same breakfast as you are having, i.e. natural yoghurt and similar, bread, müsli topping on the yoghurt ect.
After a cereal-free period you will most likely succeed in offering her cereal again, which after all renders the best satisfaction :o)
Below you will find a bread recipe recommended by the National Board of Health, where you use graham wheat or oatmeal which render a high satisfaction:
DAY 1
15g yeast
3½ dl of cold water
1 spoonful of sugar
1 spooful of oil or soft butter/vegetable margarine
100g graham flour or oatmeal
350-400g wheat flour
1. Dissolve yeast in cold water
2. Add the rest of the ingredients
3. Stir with a ladle until the dough has reached a uniform consistency. Do not knead the dough by hand
4. Cover the bowl with cling film and store it in the refrigerator until the next day
DAY 2
1. Heat the oven to 200C
2. Cover the baking tray with greaseproof paper
3. Form 12-14 buns with 2 spoons and place them on the baking tray
4. Leave the buns to rise for approx. 10 minutes
5. Brush the buns with milk and bake them for approx. 20-25 minutes until they have reached a golden surface
I wish you and your daughter the best of luck:o)
Kind regards,
Helen Hansen
