She hates the Asthma Spacer - What do we do?
Dear Helen

Julie has a bad cough, our GP found that she has an asthmatic breathing and has prescribed Airomir twice a day. We have a weekly check-up at our GP.

Julie has her medication in a NES-spacer where she has to do 10 inspirations with the spacer on mouth, and she simply HATES it. She cries and screams and becomes quite hysterical. We let her play with the spacer in order to get familiar with it, we try to be part of the treatment all three of us (mummy and daddy). In the beginning we gave her fluent medication, but she refused to take the spoon.

Do you have any advice or tricks as to what can be done to get our daughter to use the spacer without harming her?

Best regards Jenny
