Dear Evelyn

First of all I would like to stress that Syntocinon spray does NOT increase the milk production, but has a positive effect on the letdown reflex which means that the milk rises faster when you breastfeed or express milk.

Use one puff per nostril just before you breastfeed or express milk in order to make the milk rise faster. The use of Syntocinon implies that you do produce milk. Synotocinon should not be use for a longer period of time, but does not harm the baby as it is a synthetic hormone and the same hormone that makes your uterus contract upon delivery.

In order to increase the milk production you need to breastfeed more frequently, express milk, if needed, stimulate both breasts, get enough rest, food and fluid, cut back on the use of a dummy etc., as I have indicate previously.

I hope this is helpful and I wish you the best of luck:o)

Kind regards,

Helen Hansen
