Breastfeeding and ongoing Milk Production after Weaning
Hello again

I have a short question for you - is it common to still produce 4 months after I weaned my son?

Jonas' mother

Answer

Dear Jonas' mother

It is quite common to still produce milk after weaning. Some women will for several months after weaning be able to manually express liquid out of the breasts.

You should of course not experience a real milk supply, breast tension or similar, and I find it relevant that you are examined by your GP. You may be recommended to milk your breasts dry. Your GP may also consider a medical treament in order to stop your milk production.

I hope you find my answer useful:o)

Kind regards,
